Improved! The MSA Performance Front Strut Bar now comes with a polished aluminum center section with adjustable rod ends. The end brackets feature all steel construction and are durably powder coated in gray. The improved end brackets now utilize all three strut tower mounting points for extra sturdiness. Compared to our original strut bar design, this bar not only looks great and supports better, but it actually ends up 2.5 lbs. lighter while keeping the ability to adjust preload. Also, you need only remove one bolt to swing away the bar for engine work!

Description:
Strut braces are more than just a bolt in part that looks good. They are an often overlooked "missing link" in high performance suspension builds. As more rigid suspension components are installed, the chassis is placed under increased stress and can even flex under specific circumstances (larger sway bars in particular can increase flexing in the strut towers). When properly designed, strut bars can make a drastic improvement in your Z's handling by preventing the strut towers from moving independently. By preventing these unwanted suspension geometry changes, cornering (and overall) stability and steering precision are particularly increased. A properly paired set of strut and sway bars is often times the most significant handling upgrade you can make for your Z! Note: 75-78 Z may require slight modifications to fit front strut bar.

Installation Note:
MSA Performance Strut Bars are capable of preload adjustment; however, they can be installed without going through this process. Track and Autocross race setups that undergo aggressive cornering regularly will benefit the most from a preloaded strut bar. Daily driven cars can also benefit from preloading, but most of the cornering improvement for non-race applications will simply come from having a bar installed. If you plan to use the preload function, we recommend only turning the bar in 1/2 turn increments to prevent over-adjustment.

Adjustable Preload Note:
For racing or other applications where preload adjustment is required, we recommend raising the vehicle (by the frame) when installing the strut bar. Doing so will remove the load from the strut towers, allowing them to sit completely neutral. Then, when the tower bar is placed onto the vehicle, the preload can be adjusted and set as needed for your specific use (some cars may benefit more from a tension preload setting while others may work best with a compression setting; check with your race engineer to determine which is best for you). After installation, adjustment, and lowering the car, each shock tower will have equal load, and the bar will prevent independent movement of the struts. You will notice the difference!
