Description:
The original bushings under the rear of your Z wear out over time, allowing significant movement and play in the rear geometry of the car. Mustache bar bushings that have worn enough can even allow the differential to move around while driving (although they are not generally the cause of the well-known rear end "clunk"). Upgrading to this urethane kit will not only completely solve all the issues caused by worn-out factory bushings, but it will go even further beyond by greatly improving ride quality and general stability by strongly reducing rear end movement. The improvements are most noticeable at highway speeds, and even brand new OE replacements can't compare against! (Note that OE bushings are no longer available new.) Combine with other urethane bushing upgrades for an even greater improvement!

OE Bushing Removal Note: The outer metal sleeve of the factory rubber bushing (10-2261) is retained for use with the kit. Please call with any questions prior to disassembling your stock bar.

*Note:
Factory rubber bushings were single piece rubber encased in metal with the collar molded in the center, which was then pressed into the mustache bar. The lower end of the outer sleeve was rolled over the lip of the mustache bar to lock it in place. These were then "capped" with serrated rubber and metal washers on each end. While the design worked well enough when the cars were new, removal of worn out bushings is drastically more difficult while installation of OE replacements requires tools that are rather expensive and hard to find. These urethane upgrades use an improved 2-piece design that replaces both the rubber portion (10-2261) and the serrated washers (10-2270, 10-2271, 10-2272, 10-2273, 10-2274) that simplifies installation without sacrificing any performance. Each package will include a total of 4 bushing halves along with 2 separate collars and 4 large metal washers.
