Description:
The PS-60 ignition coil was designed for both fit and function. Nickel plated for an excellent chrome-like appearance, it is a great addition to any under-hood styling project while using special low resistance windings and producing up to 100% more spark energy than factory coils. The result is a great looking performance coil that won't drastically alter the appearance of your engine bay. This coil is designed for extended use in most racing and high rpm street engines, yet it is also compatible with most Crane and all O.E. electronic ignitions. One year limited warranty.
Note:
This coil is not intended for use with Capacitive Discharge (CD) ignitions. See the PS-92 coil in Related Items. Not for use with points. Can be used on 240Z's where the points have been replaced with our XR-700 or XR-3000 ignition system.
Configuration Note:
1974 and later Z's require retention and use of stock ballast resistor.
Installation Note:
This Crane coil is approximately 54 mm in diameter. Installation may be possible with your current bracket (see "Original Brackets" below), or simply add a Chrome Bracket or Chrome Coil Cover & Bracket, from Related Items, both of which will work properly with this coil.
Original Brackets:
Original 240Z coils (and many replacements) were approximately the same diameter as this Crane coil. If you believe you have an original 240Z coil bracket, you should be good to go. Original coils (and most replacements) from 1974-83 were in the range of 4 mm larger, which makes this Crane coil diameter slightly below the range of the factory bracket's adjustment screw. This can be remedied with a carefully cut piece of rubber. Even Nissan original parts often varied, so base your decision on your current coil's diameter, and the adjustment remaining in your current bracket in either direction. If you have any questions, just give us a call.
