Description:
If you are going to run any any sort of carburetor or engine conversion in your Z, you will need a new throttle cable assembly. We've put together this exclusive kit that includes a new cable assembly as well as brackets, and should work on any V8 or 4 Barrel Carburetor conversion, and also may be your best option for other types of conversions. The engine side of the cable assembly has various connectors that can mate up to almost any carburetor or other fuel device (like a throttle body), at almost any location under the hood. What makes this kit different from all others, is our exclusive throttle cable end, which has the proper threads for your original Datsun throttle linkage "ball joint" and adjustment nut (illustrated instructions included). Simply remove your original ball joint and nut from the throttle linkage (the small threaded rod covered by the throttle boot as it goes through the firewall), and thread them directly on to our custom-made cable end. Your throttle pedal will remain completely original and untouched!
Update:
We have now added a custom firewall adapter for additional clearance if needed, at no additional charge.
*Model Notes:
This custom kit was designed for 70-78. If you are converting your 280ZX, this kit will work, but will require modification of the adapter for clearance. Please call for details if you have a 79-83 280ZX.
