New Options! Early 1970 and 74-75 decals have finally been reproduced and are now available! See notes below for more details.
Includes:
Description:
These reproduction decals were created from original red & chrome rectangular decals found on the top of brake Master Vac units. While only the 9/70-73 option was available previously, our supplier was recently able to source original decals from other years to reproduce!*
Image Note:
The chrome sections of these decals reflect light a bit too well for our camera to properly capture, especially around the edges. You'll need to see them in person to properly appreciate both the quality and accuracy of them!
Model Notes:
While these decals are not the same design as those used on late 280Z models, they will still fit in the same location as the original decal. These later models had different information on the decal, and also had a "second" decal with brake fluid information which hasn't been reproduced just yet (be sure to check back later!). The 74-75 decal is a particularly good option for 1976 models, as they have a similar appearance and the color is the same. See Image Notes and Model Differences below for more details.
Model Differences:
The images on this page show a comparison between the 3 versions, as well as larger images of the 3 different decals. The printed numbers on each decal represent the most common version found on each year. In rare cases, we have seen boosters with one or two digits different than what is available on these reproductions. 70-8/70 decals only included the "Unit NO." and "Ser. NO." information lines, in that order. These also have unique text/font compared to all later decals, are a slightly different size and shape (angled corners), and are the only version to feature red numbers on an information line. 9/70-73 decals added a line for "Pat. NO." between the unit and serial number lines. 74-75 decals kept the same lines but moved the patent line to the top. All 9/70-75 decals are the same size and shape (rounded corners). Most 1976 models returned to 2 lines (although some still had 3), which were labeled "Unit. NO." and "Lot. NO." in that order (the first line on the 3-line version was "Pat. NO."). All 70-76 decals have the same red color shown above. 77-78 decals retain the information from the 1976 decal, but changed the color from red to yellow. On all versions, any numbers that were not printed on the decal were stamped on later.
*Note:
Beware of scanned copies of these early Z decals on some internet sites. The reproduction decals we offer are either the actual reproductions commissioned by Nissan for the Restoration Project (most 240Z decals), made by the same supplier that Nissan commissioned, or made by specialist suppliers (typically in Japan). We will only offer the best available option when it comes to these decals, not cheap or low quality copies!
