Aluminized Performance Exhaust (For 3-2 Headers), 70-78 240Z-260Z-280Z

Description:
Our tuned exhaust systems are engineered for minimum back pressure and efficient exhaust scavenging. The 2 1/2" piping and high efficiency premium "Turbo" style muffler provide reduced back pressure without the harsh volume of many other types of performance systems. The piping is also aluminized for long-lasting corrosion resistance. This kit is designed for use with our MSA Three-into-Two headers (front pipe connects directly to the 2 1/2" 3-2 header Y-Pipe option included with our 3-2 headers), and has no provisions for retention of the factory pre-muffler or CA emissions catalytic converter. This exhaust kit will work on 70-78 Z Coupes and can be installed either with brand new or existing MSA 3-2 headers. Includes detailed installation instructions and all hardware required for installation (HEADER & Y-PIPE NOT INCLUDED).
Header Type note:
This exhaust kit WILL NOT work with our "Six-into-One" Header Systems (part numbers 15-6012(CH) and 15-6013(CH)). See 15-6308 and 15-6309 for exhaust kits designed for use with MSA 6-1 header systems. Will not work with any other brand or style of header.
Note:
All performance exhaust systems, no matter the manufacturer or type, will be louder than the stock exhaust system. This is an unavoidable consequence of reducing back pressure and therefore increasing performance. This is especially true upon acceleration when exhaust pressures are at their highest. This aluminized system, with a "turbo" style muffler ("turbo" refers to the designed flow of the exhaust through the muffler, not to a turbocharged engine), is no exception. This type of muffler, however, was designed to limit the level of sound, especially when the engine is not being pushed. Therefore while it will be significantly louder under heavy acceleration, especially when connected to a header as opposed to the stock exhaust manifold, it should only have a pleasing "low rumble" tone during normal operation. Installation Note:
Oval performance mufflers should be positioned at an angle for a proper fit on 70-78 Z-Cars. Note that for 8/74-78 Z's that still have the original bumper mounts, you will not be able to get quite this ideal of an angle due to interference, but a slight alteration should work fine. Please give us a call if you have any questions.
