Description:
Nissan designed this hood scoop back in the 70's for heat relief for early Z engine compartments. It was extremely effective in allowing engine heat to escape upwards out of the compartment. This awesome fiberglass scoop was re-molded from that original Datsun Competition piece by our local manufacturer. It is a bolt-down scoop, and requires cutting and drilling of your original hood.
Protective Coating:
The fiberglass items in this kit have a gel coating to protect the fiberglass itself from scratches. It is not a finish coat. Your paint professional will sand down the coating prior to final priming and painting. You will notice scratching in this surface, which is exactly what it was designed to do, to take any scratching that can occur in production, transport, storage, handling, and shipping, keeping the fiberglass from being damaged.
