The plugs in the differential and manual transmission can wear over time. Sometimes they end up cross-threaded; other times the fittings end up rounded off. We recommend inspecting both the fill and drain plugs every time you change your transmission or differential oil. See Related Items for the sealing washer and the differential drain plug. Sold individually; one required per application listed below:

Technical Recommendation:
We always suggest removing the fill plug before removing the drain plug. This will ensure that you do not end up with an empty differential or transmission that you can't refill.
