This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) "lifting eye" or "hook", which is the front attachment point for engine removal. It attaches on the passenger (right) side of the cylinder head just behind the mechanical fuel pump (or block off plate for those without mechanical fuel pumps) providing the perfect position for a chain hook.
