Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) cable is one of two that are connected to the top lever (Off/Vent/Heat) of the heater control assembly. It connects the "Vent/Heat" side of the top lever to an arm on the upper right side of the heater box plenum. The diverter door that this cable controls is responsible for directing cool, fresh air to the three dash vents (center vent and both end vents*) or to the heater/defroster system (controlled by 16-7701; see Related Items for details). Like many control cables, these can stretch from age and use which causes the diverter door to not open and close all the way (or at all).

This cable measures approximately 10 1/4" from end to end.

Dash Vent Note:
Nissan designed the air vent system to only direct fresh cool air through the 3 dash vents. Hot air should only be directed into the interior through the floor vents below the dash.

Availability Note:
Ever since Nissan discontinued production of these Heater Control Cables over 2 decades ago, inventory of these cables has been limited. Although it took some time to locate them originally, we were ultimately able to find a limited supply of these genuine Nissan heater cables in Canada. When that supply ran out, we were able to source more from importers in Japan. Like many items that we source from Japan or other areas around the world, these Heater Cables may not be in stock at all times.
