Factory Idler Arm, Linkage Type Power Steering, 79-81 280ZX
Description:
The Idler Arm is connects the Idler Arm Bracket (which bolts to the frame) to the Cross Rod. It is designed to assist the pitman arm by helping support the cross rod (the center of the steering linkage assembly). Idler arms are designed to pivot as the steering wheel is turned. If you notice wear on the edge of your tires or either loose or wandering steering, this arm may be the cause. The arm itself could be bad; however, it's always worth inspecting (or simply replacing) the bushings first (see 23-4441 in Related Items below). Genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacement. Linkage type power steering models only.
