Description:
Most Z-Cars that require an Oxygen Sensor use a specialized mounting nut for installation. The O2 sensor mounts into the nut, which then threads into the exhaust manifold (or the rear elbow on the turbocharger). Sometimes the original nut can be reused, but more often than not we find them damaged from improper removal/installation or rusted beyond repair. This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) mounting nut. Sold individually.
Application Notes:
Quantity Required*:
*Header Notes:
The quantities listed above apply to stock type cast iron exhaust manifolds only. MSA headers for 280ZX and 84-85 300ZX models do not require the mounting nut. The sensor will fit directly into the header instead. MSA 86-89 300ZX headers DO require one of the mounting nuts. Nissan used a non-standard size O2 sensor for late Z31 models, so we sized the port for these years to accept the nut to allow customization as needed (see Application Note above). For non-MSA headers, we recommend visual inspection to determine whether you need the mounting nut or not.

Application Notes:
- 79-80 280ZX models only came with an O2 Sensor on California Emissions models. Federal models started including them in 1981. 280ZX Turbo models do not require a mounting nut.
- 84-89 models used two different size nuts, depending on the year. Late models (86-89) normally require the smaller inner diameter nut (14-3481); however, some aftermarket sensors require this larger inner diameter nut. Some aftermarket Air/Fuel sensors for performance gauges or tuning kits may also require this nut instead of the smaller one. Check your kit prior to ordering.
- 1996 models saw the addition of rear O2 sensors; however, these do not require mounting nuts.
