Rebound bumpers, commonly known as Bump Stops, limit suspension travel to prevent damage to the shocks/struts. Like most rubber parts, these are prone to wear out over time from age and exposure. Eventually, these protective bumpers can rot and fall away, exposing the shocks to over-compression and potential damage. Replacing your worn out originals with genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacements such as these (along with other worn out rubber suspension components) is the best way to protect your shocks and maintain the factory ride quality.
