Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) 280Z timing indicator is bolted on the passenger (right) side of the timing cover. Starting in 3/73, the degree marks were moved from the pulley to the indicator mounted on the timing cover. Fits 1974 260Z without factory installed air conditioning and all 75-78 280Z models; see 10-9131 Related Items if your 260Z does not have factory A/C and the matching crankshaft pulley.

Application Note:
Timing indicators were matched to the crankshaft pulley during original engine assembly. When purchasing a replacement, you will need to make sure the indicator matches the pulley that is currently installed. This is especially important if you suspect the pulley has been replaced at some point over the years. Give us a call if you aren't sure whether this indicator matches your current pulley.

Plating Note:
As with many of the OEM hardware, fittings, caps, and other plated components, Nissan no longer uses the original plating that gave these timing indicators their "yellow zinc" appearance. Nissan has used several different types of plating on metal components over the years, and it is not uncommon to receive pieces with different appearances (especially when ordering in quantity). The current plating used on these genuine Nissan indicators gives them a more silver appearance as shown in the images.
