Description:
This custom quality kit is made with better-than-original materials to replace, not cover, the old outer seat material on both the driver and passenger seats in your car. It isn't a universal kit, but a professionally designed re-upholstery kit that was constructed to properly fit both front seats in your 79-83 280ZX. The original-design foamed pleats are sewn into both seat bottoms and both back rests. Each kit includes step-by-step instructions, all necessary hardware, 2 back rest upholstery sections, and 2 seat bottom upholstery sections. One kit required per car (covers both seats).

Seat Type Note:
This kit is only for the factory "high back" bucket seats that did not have a separate headrest. See 40-2657 in Related Items if you have factory "low back" seats with a separate headrest.

Material Note:
Vinyl & Velour kits will come with a Velour seat face and Vinyl sides and back, which is the same format as the original Vinyl/Velour upholstery. If you need your kit to be made in full velour, please give us a call at (714)639-2620 or Email us instead.

*Black Interior Note:
280ZX models factory equipped with black interior either came with full black vinyl seats (with basket weave insert) or silver velour face and black sides & back. They did not come with black velour seat face originally.

Pattern Notes:
The pattern of these upholstery kits will match the original upholstery found in the standard, non-leather models (vertical stitching). They will not match the original factory installed standard leather/suede leather combination seat pattern, the factory option full leather upholstery seat pattern (2 vertical narrow stitching lines near center of seat), or turbo model upholstery. Some models with velour upholstery also featured horizontal lines in the velour itself; this style of velour is not available currently.

Standard Model Note:
The factory seats on some standard models had vinyl seat upholstery with a "basket weave" style center section, similar to the late 280Z model. The basket weave pattern is not available at this time. The center section of the seat will use the same vinyl as the rest of the seat.

Image Note:
The image to the left shows a simple diagram of the format of this kit, along with the included pieces. The center section will have the correct vertical stitching pattern for 79-83 high back seats (see Pattern Notes above); however, the material used in the center will have the same appearance as the material on the outer facing sections. Note:
All MSA Upholstery Kits are designed to fit the years specified. For instance, an upholstery kit for 1976 will not fit on a 1978 seat. If you are looking to change the look of your seat to that of another year, give us a call at (714)639-2620 to see if we can custom order the look you need.
