Description:
Weighing in at just 10.7 pounds, these Fidanza flywheels are great! Lightweight flywheels benefit your car in several ways in both performance and reliability. Less weight means faster throttle response, quicker acceleration, and, more power to the wheels (less loss from rotational mass). It also leads to better braking and slowing for the same reason (less rotational weight means the engine slows easier). Aluminum transfers heat faster than steel as well, leading to improved clutch efficiency and less wear. The 3-piece modular design allows the unit to be serviced easily, and, replacement friction plates* are available if needed (no more replacing the entire assembly)! All Fidanza flywheels are manufactured in the USA from top grade materials, such as military/aircraft grade fasteners, top grade 6061 T6 billet aluminum, Rockwell hardened starter ring gears, and specially sourced and treated friction plates, so you know you are getting the best you can! Includes required clutch dowel pins and adhesive (for the pins).
Clutch Note: Centerforce II or ACT™ clutch strongly recommended at minimum. Not for use with stock or Centerforce I clutches.
Fitment Note:
This flywheel is designed so that both coupe (225mm) and Turbo/2+2 (240mm) clutches can be used, although we only recommend using the coupe clutch due to the difference in weight (which is the main benefit of a performance flywheel). If the bolt holes in your clutch are not lining up to the holes in the flywheel, simply rotate your pressure plate until you find the correct bolt pattern. The 225mm and 240mm clutches have different bolt patterns, which is why your clutch may not line up right away. In most cases, we do not recommend using a performance flywheel in turbo applications. Please give us a call at (714)639-2620 if you have any questions.
*Friction Plates:
If you've managed to wear out the friction plate on this flywheel, either from age/mileage or heavy track use, we can order a replacement friction plate for you (a much lower cost than replacing the entire flywheel). Give us a call at (714)639-2620 for more information.
