Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) switch is located on the Driver's (left) door jamb and activates the interior lights when the door is opened. Sold individually.
Replacement Options:
While Nissan has discontinued this switch, there is an option. The Passenger (right) side switch (see 45-4351 in Related Items) can be used on the left side in a modified fashion. On some S30's, the type of connector will have to be changed (for instance, from a bullet connector to a spade connector/etc.). In addition, the Right Door Switch had only two wires, not three wires like the original Left Door Switches. That third wire controlled the door "buzzer". The Right Door switch will still control the light from the left side, but if you'd also like to have door buzzer function, you would have to add a wire to connect to this circuit. Many Door Buzzers are already no longer working, so be certain yours is, and test the connections first before you begin soldering on the new switch. Remember that some switch modifications or changes may already have taken place on your Z at some point in its past, so test before you commit! Let us know if you have any questions.
