Description:
There are two typical causes for your oil pressure gauge to show no oil pressure: a bad sending unit or a bad oil pump. If the only symptom you see is no oil pressure, chances are that it is just the oil pressure sending unit that has gone bad. If you also notice that your engine temp is higher than normal, more valve train noise than normal, or that the oil pressure is lower than normal, then you may need to replace your oil pump. (Be sure to test your sending unit either way). This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) oil pump for late non-turbo models. For stock or mildy modified engines, a standard replacement pump will give plenty of oil pressure. If you are building a higher power motor; or just want additional oil circulation; the Twin Turbo pump makes a great upgrade (can also be used as a replacement for a worn out or failed pump on unmodified non-turbo engines); see 17-8029 in Related Items.
