Remanufactured Alternator, 75-2/77 280Z
You can choose a Z-Car from your garage, or from the selections above, to filter the store or check part fitment.
Includes:
Description:
Direct replacement for all 280Z externally regulated alternators. 1 year warranty. Sold on an exchange basis. Don't forget to check your voltage regulator and replace the old bolts (see Related Items).
Note:
Alternators and Voltage Regulators are paired components within the electrical system and should be replaced in pairs. It is common for these parts to cause their counterpart to go bad, especially after replacing only one of the two. Specifically, a bad voltage regulator can cause a good or even brand new alternator to go bad, and the reverse is also true. We recommend having both your voltage regulator and battery tested prior to ordering, in addition to testing your current alternator, in order to confirm the source of the issue you are seeing.
1977 Note:
1977 models had a split in the middle of the production year (February/March) where the alternators switched from external to internal regulators. As with many parts, this timeframe was not a hard switch, and it isn't uncommon for a late production car to still have an external regulator. If your car was produced during the 1977 model year, please inspect your car and determine whether you have an external regulator or not. Please give us a call at (714)639-2620 for assistance.
Model Guide:
Datsun 280Z
Model Restriction:
For models currently equipped with an externally regulated alternator. Will not work on models without an external voltage regulator.
Code Guide:
Datsun S30
