Description:
A refined level of performance and driveability is available in the Medalion Touring Exhaust System for the 350Z. The elegant, well defined appearance of MEDALION TOURING is mature, and matches the artistry of a tastefully built, highly tuned machine. Using the all new 'continuous strand' ADVANTEX packing material technology, MEDALION TOURING acheives extremely high levels of exhaust system efficiency, while maintaining a highly street driveable, extremely low frequency tone that is well under 93db for discreet sports driving. This system requires no removeable silencer, and keeps in-cabin noise to a minimum.
The full SUS304 stainless MEDALION TOURING features a slim-line oval canister, and a special dual wall, angle-cut tip. Now with ADVANTEX performance exhaust technology! Advantex is a highly advanced muffler packing material that greatly excels over other packing material types such as loose packed fiberglass mats and composite cube types. Advantex internal packing material allows the muffler to reduce sound more, with less material, while maintaining extremely high flow characteristics. MEDALION TOURING features a special dual wall, angle-cut tip. While very attractive looking, the dual wall tip has the function of reducing exhaust resonation. As sound travels through exhaust piping, it can begin to resonate. The dual wall design of this tip reduces this effect. Because of the new Advantex packing material, the canister size can be much slimmer, weigh less, and reduce sound more than other systems that require large bulky canisters, or multiple sub-mufflers. MEDALION TOURING's slim canister is pleasing to the eye, and is designed to allow for high ground clearance, for lowered vehicles.
Tanabe was one of the first Japanese aftermarket companies to create full SUS304 stainless steel exhaust systems many years ago. The highest grade SUS304 stainless is used on all systems for maximum durability, as well as weight reduction. This goal is further acheived by 1.2mm Thinwall Piping. Specially engineered for use on our exhaust systems, a piping wall diameter of 1.2mm was developed, which allowed weight to be significantly reduced, while remaining durable for extended useage. The SUS304 piping also plays a role in sound output, as it reduces resonation and helps our systems produce their trademark low, deep tone. In addition, because every bit of weight savings is beneficial, exhaust hangars with hollow construction are utilized, along with pressed SUS304 exhaust flanges on portions of the exhaust system.
Minimizing bends is a goal of each custom built Tanabe exhaust system. The truest form is realized to minimize restrictions and maximize useable power gains. Where necessary, the piping is mandrel bent for improved exhaust flow characteristics.
Tanabe exhaust systems are well known to have one of the most unique exhaust notes available. A trademark of the Tanabe exhaust system the extremely clean, low, deep tone that is both pleasant and aggressive at all RPM ranges. Designed for motorsports, this exhaust system is also fully streetable and is built to be under 93db when used and installed as a factory replacement exhaust.
Tanabe is the first and only Japanese exhaust manufacturer with a dedicated USA division to have the ISO9001 quality manufacturing certificate . Because of the extreme difficulty to obtain this certification, those who have the Tanabe exhaust system drive knowing they have one of the highest quality, most thoroughly developed systems in the world. Fit and function are always flawless, and each exhaust is fully supported by the Tanabe USA staff for tech and warranty.
