Description:
The throttle position switch (TPS) is the switch on the side of the throttle body that tells the ECU whether the throttle body is open or closed (idle). The original TPS units commonly build up corrosion both on the connector and between the contacts under the cover. The contacts can also wear out in some very high mileage cases. These issues can result in situations where either too much (flooding) or too little (starvation) fuel is sent to the engine, resulting in surging, roughness, stalling, or even fuel cut-off ("coast" mode, which should only be active when decelerating at higher RPMs). This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) throttle position switch, which is located on the driver's side throttle body.

Application Note:
This TPS was originally listed for twin turbo models. Nissan has since superceded both the turbo and non-turbo versions to the same part number in this year span (7/95-96).
