Description:
This is the chrome version of the genuine, original equipment (OEM) hood emblem for all 79-83 280ZX and S130 Fairlady Z models. It features a white "Z" logo with chrome trimming and black textured backing. The overall design incorporates multiple textures and finishes for a truly unique appearance. As factory Nissan pieces, these have all the correct features and details needed to properly finish your ZX project or restoration. Includes pre-installed adhesive tape for easy installation.
Installation Note:
Since the alignment pins are no longer used on this emblem, it is entirely possible to install it upside down (rotated 180°). The underside of this emblem has an arrow and marking to indicate which end should be positioned furthest forward when installing the emblem. When viewed from the front, the arrow points toward the "bottom" of the emblem (the first image on this page shows the "upright" position as it should be installed) or "Toward Front". The "Z" logo is slightly offset toward the "top" of the emblem as well. Lastly, the top of the "Z" is narrower than the bottom.
JDM S30 Note:
All 70-78 S30 models sold in Japan used a "Z" emblem similar in appearance to this 280ZX emblem. Nissan has superceded that original emblem to this 280ZX part number as well; however, it does not have the angle to match the hood needed for proper installation on S30 models (it also does not have the clip posts used on early models). If you need a replacement emblem for your 70-78 Fairlady Z, we recommend either the "DATSUN" emblem from models outside of Japan (31-1001 in Related Items) or our Classic "Z" Emblem (31-1000).
