This small hex screw is used to hold the 70-71 choke knob (not included; see 40-2959 in Related Items) in place.
Note:
Nissan has been inconsistent recently on whether the hole for the mounting screw is pre-drilled or not. Choke knobs were first sold without a screw hole between 2011-2012, then the hole was consistently included again. At this point, we are not able to guarantee one type or the other outside of our current inventory as Nissan has been sending both versions under the same part number for some time now. Please contact us for installation help if you already purchased a new Choke Knob that did not have the hole.
