Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) adjustment arm is a direct replacement for the original on 70-78 Z-Cars and a good alternative for the discontinued 280ZX arm. Great for OE restorations, as it comes in the same blue color as the factory installed original (see 80-8398 in Related Items for the same color paint). For a sturdier and easier to adjust unit, see 10-2077 in Related Items.
*280ZX Note:
This bracket is very similar to the original 280ZX version. In terms of mounting the alternator and tensioning the fan belt, both brackets function identically. Visually, the 280ZX has an overall smoother shape compared to this earlier bracket, which has more angular bends. The ends on the S30 version are also less rounded compared to the ZX type. Both were originally painted in the same blue as the engine block. The most important difference is that the 280ZX version has an additional mounting tab at the outer end of the adjustment side of the bracket (on the top side angled toward the rear), which was used to mount a clamp that supported the lower radiator hose. This clamp was not used on 70-78 models, and the tab is not part of this early style arm. Note that the diagram on this page does show the 280ZX version.
