Part #:21-2073
Price: $49.95
Description:
The Clutch Release Bearing (also called a Throw Out Bearing) is possibly the most important part of the clutch system. When the Clutch Pedal is depressed, the bearing is pushed against the pressure plate's springs in order to disengage the clutch disc, which in turn stops turning the transmission's input shaft (and removes power from the wheels as a result). A bearing that is going bad may cause some noise when the clutch pedal is depressed; however, a complete failure of the bearing can cause damage to the pressure plate springs, disc, and more. This OEM Nissan Release Bearing must be replaced whenever the Clutch Disc or Pressure Plate is replaced in order to avoid bearing failure.

Application Note:
Nissan manufacturing had informed us originally that this release bearing was the same from 2003-2008, and we previously had this part listed for 03-08. We confirmed some time ago that this release bearing is not correct for any 350Z with a Dual Throttle MREV system. This is true for ALL 2007 and later 350Z's (M-REV on 2005-2006 350Z's were single throttle, and therefore use this bearing). If you have a 2007-2009 350Z, see Related Items below for the replacement Concentric Slave Cylinder Assembly which includes the correct bearing.
