Factory Door W/S, Right, 74-3/75 260Z-280Z Coupe
Description:
This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) main door weatherstrip that fits around the door opening on the body of the car. Sold individually.
Alternate Replacement:
We also offer an excellent quality alternative to this factory piece at a significantly reduced cost. See 34-1075-1 in Related Items below.
Installation Notes:
Door Weatherstrips on S30 models are designed to be held in place using a hard "welting", which is more or less a pinch molding. Adhesives should not be used on weatherstrips that install using welting, as the adhesive can actually prevent the weatherstrip from fitting completely. You will also need to use a rubber mallet (or equivalent) to push the weatherstrip fully into place. In addition, weatherstrip lubricant and heat (heat gun, hair dryer, or letting the seal sit in the sun for a while) can be used to make installation easier.
Fitment Notes:
It is normal for the doors to be difficult to close for a time after initial installation, even if OEM replacement weatherstrips were installed. The seals need some time to properly seat and mold to the body and door. In extreme cases, adjustment of the door hinges and latches may be needed. Applying spray silicone to the surface of the seal and warming the seal with a heat gun/hair dryer can make the door easier to close after installation. We also recommend allowing the car to sit in the sun for a time after the doors are closed to help the weatherstrips mold to the car faster.
