Description:
One of the most common reasons why your 280Z's heater system may not be working right is a bad control valve. When the valve fails, it can cause your heater to stay on all the time, not turn on at all, or even spill engine coolant all over your carpet! This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) valve. On models factory equipped with A/C, this valve controls the volume of coolant flowing through the heater system (it also serves as the on/off valve on models without factory A/C). Note:
This valve is larger than the earlier 16-7642 and has the thermostatic sensor wire going to the heater.
