Description:
(Formerly POR-15 Paint Over Rust) Whether you are repairing an older Z with rust or just purchased a brand new Nissan Z® and want to keep it from rusting down the road, POR-15 Rust Preventative Coating is the perfect way to protect and preserve your ride. Designed to be coated right onto prepped rusted or seasoned metal surfaces, Rust Preventative Coating leaves a solid finish which won't crack, chip, or peel. POR-15 cures by drawing moisture from the atmosphere, which unlike paint, won't leave pores which can eventually allow air and moisture to reach the metal. This way rust is eliminated permanently, and surfaces are protected from water, chemicals, salt, and other corrosive contaminants. POR-15 is as durable as powder coating, yet remains flexible to prevent cracks. Beyond metal, this coating can be applied to many porous surfaces, including concrete (garage floors) and fiberglass (air dams, spoilers, and more!). Semi-Gloss Black finish (also available in Black, Silver, Clear, or Gray, see 80-8254 in Related Items).
Color Features:
Note:
Be sure to follow the instructions on the can before and during use. Cleaner/Degreaser and Metal Prep are excellent for this purpose (see Related Items). A topcoat should be applied when used on areas that will receive significant direct sunlight.
Size Note:
POR-15 paints go a long way. This quart size is enough to cover several small to medium size projects on your Z-Car, as well as some larger projects. If you don't expect to use all of it in one go, we recommend storing it in a cold, dry space to prevent it from curing in the can. Additionally, a layer of plastic wrap can be used under the lid when sealing the can to make reopening easier later on.

Color Features:
- Black (Gloss and Semi-Gloss): Best option for areas that won't be top-coated or exposed to direct sunlight, such as underside areas, inner fenders, frames, floor pans, suspension parts, etc. Non-conductive.
- Clear: Offers the smoothest finish; makes a great preprimer on exterior surfaces.
- Gray: Great for concrete floors, storage areas, and steel. Non-conductive.
- Silver: Contains metal filler, making it great for badly rusted and pitted areas (will fill holes better than black or clear).
