Description:
This bracket bolts to the firewall to support the rear of the torsion shaft (the part of the throttle linkage that extends forward from the firewall). The bushing on the factory bracket is prone to wear, and in many cases we have seen them crumbling or missing entirely, which creates significant play in the throttle. This movement not only reduces throttle response, but can even accelerate wear on other parts of the throttle linkage assembly (specifically, the hard to find ball/socket bushings). The only way to get a replacement bushing was to buy a new bracket (discontinued by Nissan many years ago) or fabricate something on your own. This upgraded bracket solves the problem entirely by changing to a pillowball bushing, which allows for a full range of motion while keeping the torsion shaft in the correct position for optimal throttle response.
Image Note:
The torsion shaft shown in the bottom image is shown for reference only and not included with this bracket.
