Description:
This is an excellent reproduction of the rubber boot (grommet) for the wiring that comes from the wiper motor through the firewall. It serves to both prevent the wiring from rubbing on the metal of the firewall while also sealing heat and moisture. See Related Items for installation lubricant.
Installation Note:
This grommet was made just as the factory Nissan grommets came: in a closed circle. For a true, factory style installation, you will need to take the wiring plug from the wiper motor, carefully back out the wires from the plug itself, pass the wires through the center hole, then replace the wires into the plug (be sure to mark them before removing them). Alternatively, one could also cut a radial slice into the grommet and then use a rubber sealant (see Related Items) to hold it together. With care, this second option can have similar results to the factory style installation method, although we generally recommend the first method instead. Please give us a call at (714)639-2620 or Email us if you have any questions.
