Description:
This firewall boot only used to be offered from Nissan along with the purchase of an expensive new main wiring harness; however, the boot often failed while the harness was still just fine. Motorsport now has these reproduction rubber boots readily available. See Related Items for installation lubricant.
Installation Note:
This grommet was made just as the factory Nissan grommets came: in a closed circle. For a true, factory style installation, you would need to trace the various wires, carefully back them out from their respective plugs, pass the wires through the center hole, then replace the wires into their plugs (be sure to mark them before removing them). While this works well for smaller harnesses (such as the wiper harness), or when installing an aftermarket or universal harness, it would be quite a chore for a factory original harness unless it was already removed from the car. For on the car installation, one could simply cut a radial slice into the grommet and then use a rubber sealant (see Related Items) to hold it together. With care, this second option can have similar results to the factory style installation method. Please give us a call at (714)639-2620 or Email us if you have any questions.
