Description:
For flick-of-the-wrist shifting style install a new short throw shifter in your Z! These racing-type shifters provide faster and more precise shifting of your transmission. Reduces throw (distance the shift lever moves when shifting gears) by about 60%. Includes shift lever, installation brackets ("ears"), shifter pin & clip, shift bushing set, weighted shift knob, transmission shift boot, and attachment hardware.

Shift Knob Note:
The shift knob included in this kit is a weighted knob, which is ideal for use with short throw shifters. Weighted knobs reduce the effort needed to move the shift lever, while the reduced throw increases the pressure needed to move the lever (the overall effect is comparable to a stock lever feel). The lever is designed for a 10mm x 1.25mm shift knob.

Throw Note:
This is a true short throw shifter kit, which reduces the actual "throw" of the lever (the distance the shift lever moves between gears). The overall height of the lever is similar to the stock shift lever.

Transmission Note:
Shifters are designed to work on original transmissions for the listed years. Not for use on 70-71 "A" Style transmissions, which can be identified by looking at the shift lever ("A" Style shift levers are straight, use vertically mounted rubber bushings, have a sort of bell shaped bracket, and do not enter the transmission at the base. "B" style transmissions have a curved lever, use horizontal pin and bushings, and the base fits inside the transmission.).
