Description:
As an interference motor, it is critical that the timing belt and components are replaced as a part of standard maintenance. Component failure while the engine is running is capable of causing severe to catastrophic damage to your engine. Replacing the timing belt and components at their specified intervals (60k for soft parts; 120k for hard parts) is the best way to prevent this from happening. This kit comes with all of the hardware related to the Timing Belt Tensioner, but does not include the tensioner itself; see 10-5455 in Related Items for our kit that includes the hardware and the tensioner.

Plating Note:
As with many of the OEM hardware, fittings, caps, and other plated components, Nissan no longer uses the original plating that gave the mounting stud in this kit the "yellow zinc" appearance. Nissan has used several different types of plating on metal components over the years, and it is not uncommon to receive pieces with different appearances (especially when ordering in quantity). The current plating used on the genuine Nissan mounting stud in this kit gives it a more silver appearance. Note that the images on this page show an artist estimation of the updated appearance. Updated images will be added to 14-1741 soon.
