Description:
Nissan discontinued the original dual-snap Classic Z-Car Tool Bags over two decades ago. They have since superceded them to the smaller 350Z Roadster Tool Bag. We found that not only are the Roadster Bags single-snap (which can affect tool security in addition to appearance), they are simply too small to fit all of the early tools in. We searched for a different GENUINE Nissan Tool Bag that would work better. This bag is from Nissan Japan, and is quite close to the dimensions of the OEM Classic Z Bag. It is slightly larger (about 5/16" wider, and about 2" taller), but will still fit great in your tool compartment, and all of the tools fit just fine! The two-snap cover looks more like the original when compared to the Roadster tool bag, while helping to keep your tools where they belong: IN the bag.
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) tool bag is the closest option we've found for a replacement to the early Z-Car bags. It is a great option for those looking to replace their worn or missing original, or anyone who needs a slightly larger bag (or wants to add an additional bag) for more tools, lug nuts, test equipment, or small parts. Also, if you still have an original bag in good condition that you want to keep that way (saving it for shows and other events), this bag will work as an every day tool bag for regular use, and not wear on your un-replaceable original bag. Again, unlike the Nissan supercession, this bag WILL fit the entire tool kit included from the factory (including both jack handle pieces, the lug wrench, and both folding wheel chocks*).
Measurements:
Notes:
Nissan superceded many vehicle's original tool bags to the 350Z Roadster bag, including the original factory 70-83 Z/ZX bags (which also were larger than the Roadster bag). The Roadster bag could also make a good supplemental bag for additional tools or other spare parts in their Z. If you'd prefer a smaller tool bag, or are looking to replace your 350Z's Roadster bag, see 60-9702 in Related Items.
*Wheel Chocks:
While the later style folding wheel chocks will fit inside this bag along with the rest of the tools, the early style solid wheel chocks will not. Note that these were normally stowed with the jack inside the tool compartment directly and not in the tool bag.
