Restore your Z's performance! Tune ups are an important part of the general maintenance of your Z. The metal parts of the spark plugs, cap, and rotor all wear down over time from heat caused by repeated use. This can lead to poor fuel economy, engine performance, and eventually cause misfires in extreme cases. Dirty engine filters and a blockage in the PCV valve will also decrease performance and economy (a blocked fuel filter can even prevent your car from running altogether). The recommended interval for a tune up on early Z-Cars is 30,000 miles. If the car has sat for a long period of time or if you recently purchased the car, a Major Tune Up should be performed along with other maintenance (including a complete fluid change). We assembled this kit for those who either have upgraded their original points distributor to aftermarket electronic ignition, such as the Crane XR Series or Pertronix upgrades, and no longer have ignition points to replace, along with those who are about to install an electronic ignition upgrade.

Application Notes:
This kit is for use with factory 240Z single point distributors that have been upgraded to electronic ignition only. Will not fit later electronic distributors. In-pump fuel filter is for factory equipped electric fuel pumps.

*Air Filter Note:
This alternative kit does not include an air filter due to limited availability of 73-74 OE Style Air Filters. If you need to replace your air filter on your original Hitachi "Flat Top" carburetors, we currently offer the Ramflo style air cleaners as an alternative; see Related Items.
