Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) helical (worm) gear fits on the crankshaft between the oil slinger and the crank sprocket and drives the oil pump spindle. The spindle drives both the distributor and the oil pump. If you are seeing both ignition timing and oil pressure issues, this gear could be the cause!

Note:
We recommend replacing this gear and the Oil Pump Drive Spindle at the same time whenever possible, as they often wear out together. See Related Items for the replacement drive spindle.

Installation Note:
The oil pump drive gear has an inner chamfer on one side and is flat on the other. This chamfered side must be facing rearward (closer to the engine block) when installing the gear onto the crankshaft.
